Oleksandr Boychenko is a literary critic, translator, publicist. He is a former assistant professor at Chernivtsi national university. In 2005 and 2008 he was a participant of scholarship program of culture minister Gaude Polonia in Poland. He is an author of the books „A Sort of Chautaukua“, „Chautaukua plus“ and „Aby knyzhka“. He has translated a novel „Tartak“ by Daniel Odija from Polish and many plays and texts by Michal Walczak, Tadeusz Borowski, Marek Hlasko, Olga Tokarczuk, Andrzej Stasiuk and others.
From Russian he has translated a novels „The Good Stalin“ by Viktor Erofeyev and „The Basque Dog by Ihor Pomerantsev. In 2015 he war awarded the Shevelev Modern Essay Prize for his book „More or Less“.
Oleksandr Boychenko is a member of Ukrainian PEN Club.
