International festival “The Arsenal Book Fair”  in the The National Art, Culture & Museum Complex “ARSENAL”

12 Lavrska str.

Kyiv

The last event on the program of this year’s festival and “The Arsenal Bok Fair” is the project supervised by Diana Klochko. Several yet unrealized book projects will be presented there. Generated by the men-of-letters from Ukraine, these ideas are an attempt to apply visual methods not to the object itself, but to the ideas of different authors, genres, styles…

For the ten participants these 90 minutes will be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate (mostly, with the help of non-verbal means –video, audio, assemblages, performances) a book project as it is and which is in the process of creation and transforming in the variety of cultural association and intentions.
In such a way the spectators will find themselves in the “kitchen” of book creation, the authors will get a chance to influence directly the transformation and development of their ideas.

10-15 minutes of the each presentation is followed by the discussion (expressive silence or loud applause), at the end, dramatization of voting for one or the other idea: all the willing guests will choose a paper strip – color corresponding to one of the projects – and drop it into a big vase. This way the choice of the spectators will be visualized as well.

Some of the projects presented will be realized in autumn 2011, during the II International Poetry festival MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ: the results of the presentation and discussion can be seen in three month – during the first September weekend in Chernivtsi.
