Hans Ruprecht was born in Bern in 1952. He studied acting and stage directing at the University of Folkwang, Essen.
1980 to 2007 – he organized the TAKTLOS Festival in Bern.
He is also the editor of the Taktlos Music Book (2007), which explores the relationship between literature and music.
Since 2001 Hans Ruprecht was engaged in various literary events at Kulturhallen Dampfzentrale and at Schlachthaustheater in Bern as well as in promotion and mediation of Swiss literature in Berlin, Vienna, Krems, Lviv and in other various locations.
Since 2005 – superintendent of the literature festival Leukerbad.
Since 2006 – organiser of the Bern Literaturfest, a five-day festival in the city and suburbs of Bern.
2008 – received the Award of the Canton of Bern for culture mediation and promotion.
