Valerie Rouzeau was born in 1967, she lives in Saint-Ouen.
Valerie has published dozens of books and pamphlets of poetry “Pas revoir” (le dé bleu, 1999); “Neige rien” (Unes, 2000); “Va où” (le Temps qu’il fait, 2002); “Apothicaria” (Wigwam, 2007) and “Mange-Matin” (l’idée bleue, 2008).
She translated poems of Sylvia Plath into French: “Arbres d’hiver / La Traversée” (Poésie/Gallimard, 1999 together with Françoise Morvan and Sylvie Doizelet), as well as a monographes published by Jean-Michel Place: “Un Galop infatigable” (2003).
In addition, Valerie translated a biography dedicated to the marriage of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes by Diane Middlebrook, “Son mari” (Phébus, 2006), a collection of texts of photographer Duane Michals and a charming fairy tale illustrated by Wayne Anderson, “Ratsmagic” for publisher Robert Delpire ( 2008 and 2009).
Her translations of “Ariel” of Sylvia Plath and a part of “Poèmes” (1957-1994) of Ted Hughes (the other part was translated by Jacques Darras) were published by Gallimard in 2009.
The first two volumes of collections of poems by Valerie Rouzeau – “Quand je me deux” was recently published (in October 2009), publisher Temps qu’il fait.
Valerie Rouzeau also works three times a year as an Editor of “Dans La Lune”, this magazine was created in 2004 with Michel Freard – creative director of the Center for Children and the house of poetry “Tinqueux (51)”, – a small poetry magazine dedicated to people aged from 5 to 117 years, “100 % of guarantee lack of sweetness”.
Publisher Table Ronde reissued in February 2010 two books by Valerie Rouzeau “Pas revoir” and “Neige rien” for their pocket books collection “La Petite Vermillon”.
